Introduced in 2012, the Axe handle is hailed as a breakthrough by players and coaches from youth leagues to the pros. The Axe has been further refined for 2013 with improved ergonomics that deliver better performance and comfort. Every part of the shape was analyzed and tested by our development team. The result is an Axe handle that is slightly thinner for a better fit in the fingers, and with tighter radius lines on the signature front hook to provide more swing leverage and control. The back side of the handle was trimmed down for even more freedom through release.
2012's LP™ Scandium Alloy was created from a combination of elements to deliver performance and durability under one-sided hitting conditions. These bats delivered, but we are never satisfied. The alloy mixture was advanced for 2013, and a proprietary aging process was introduced to deliver even greater strength throughout the barrel. LP2™ Scandium Alloy means bigger sweet spots, even better durability, and maximum legal performance.
The Axe handle delivers benefits beyond the grip – it allows our engineers to hone in on the hitting side of the bat. Axe bats are unique in that they have an engineered hitting zone, where we optimize everything – balance, sweet spot, barrel performance, and durability – for your contact point.
“As a former player, the thing I like about the Axe is the way your hands fit when you grab it. It feels like your hands are more free to swing through the ball.” ~ John KrukPro Baseball Legend, 3-time All-Star, current baseball analyst for ESPN
